July Presidentís Message

Summer is finally upon us ñ not that anyone is complaining. Many of us will be taking some time to visit places near and far.  Israel, northern Pennsylvania, Thousand Islands, Disneyworld, and NYC are just some of the places our shul members will be visiting.  Letís wish everyone safe and enjoyable journeys.

Make sure to put August 21st on your calendar.  We will have our annual picnic on that date.  We expect to have great food and fun.

We had well attended services for Shavuot, with a joint service with our friends from Beth Am on the second morning of the chag.  Letís all extend a yasher koach to Janet Grable and Judith Mercer who sponsored and prepared the wonderful milchig dinner that we had on erev Shavuot.  Thanks also to those who helped serve and clean up.  The dinner was delicious as will be attested by the 40 some odd congregants who attended.

We do have a bittersweet note.  Our long time members, the Amon family, will soon be moving to Ohio and will be sorely missed.  Weíve watched their children grow up and become young adults.  Two are already off to college.  On July 9, we will have a special oneg following Shabbat services to say farewell Moris, Terry and their children.  We will also celebrate the July and August birthdays and anniversaries for our members.  Please join us on that very special Shabbat.

As the Bard wrote, ìÖsummerís lease has all too short a date.î  Enjoy it while it lasts.

See you all at shul.
