July President’s Message

Friends,

Well, it’s that time of year again. Schools out! No more pencils, no more books, no more teacher’s … Oh, I forgot - this is a president’s note. Ahem.

There is a time for everything. That’s what we’re told in Kohelet (Ecclesiastes). And as we all know, summer is the time for fun – so let’s all go forth and have some. I hope you all have some plan for fun this summer. As we say in the corporate world, we must execute the plan flawlessly. I expect a “What I did on my Summer Vacation” report from all of you in September. Two pages, single spaced – and spelling counts.

With Yacob away until early July, we’ve had to take turns with the shul chores. Thanks to all who are helping. And special thanks to Judy Mercer for purchasing a new vacuum cleaner to make the job easier. Judy and another member are donating toward the full cost.

On August 6 at 1:30 to 3:30 we are all invited to share a special and very joyous occasion – the 100th Birthday of Rebbetzin Esther Solomon. Mrs. Solomon and her late husband Rabbi Solomon contributed so much to our shul and the Rochester Jewish Community during their lifetimes. Please come to the Jewish Home on that date and share Mrs. Solomon’s simcha.

The following Sunday we will hold the Annual BHBI picnic right on shul grounds. I look forward to seeing you all there as we round out our summer fun requirements.

Have a great summer and …. see you at shul.

Harris Honickman
